Unpaid servants who are Ministry-Safe trained are needed in the Children's Ministry department every Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. The response for adult Bible studies has been overwhelmingly positive and, as a result, we have a greater number of children and students in our care. If you are willing to help nurture and teach these young people, please contact Dana Gomez (817-487-2400) or Jennifer Higgins (817-690-2720).

Adult Education classes are back in session and unpaid servants are always welcome to help greet and serve students and their families. If you are looking for a place to live our mission - to love God, grow in grace, and serve others - this is a great opportunity!

Church staff, ministry team leaders, and unpaid servants are invited to our annual PASSIONATE DISCIPLES SUMMIT Saturday, January 27 for a day of celebrating the past and preparing for the future. We will begin promptly at 9:30am in the Gym. Captain Marshall Whitlock from Johnson County Sheriff's Office will present a safety and emergency preparedness seminar prior to our church business and visioning conversations. Lunch and childcare will be provided, please RSVP to Nicole Hutchison or Pastor Dale Wilbanks by phone or email.

Midweek discipleship groups for children and teens plus adult Bible studies take place every Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Education Building. Skip the hassle of rushing home to make dinner and join us for our Midweek Meal at 5:30pm in the Gym.

First Methodist Joshua is excited to host its first event simulcast of the WORK AS WORSHIP conference for business professionals Friday, February 23 in our Worship Center. Online registration is required (click here) and lunch is provided. This is a great opportunity for business owners and employees to be inspired by industry leaders and learn ways to connect their faith and work. Invite your team and coworkers to this 1-day retreat without having to travel to Dallas!

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University has been rescheduled to the Spring and will begin Sunday, April 8 at 6pm. For class information, to purchase a participant's kit, or to register, click HERE

JUMPS - Joshua United Methodist Preschool
Director: Dana Gomez

We offer the JUMPS program at FUMC Joshua in order to give children a safe place to be cared for in a Christian atmosphere where they can experience God’s love.

We believe that all children are gifts from God. Our mission is to minister to families by providing a quality children’s childcare ministry which offers parental peace of mind. We seek to provide spiritual, social, and academic growth for the children of these families.

Specifically, our classroom lessons are designed to help children do the following:

  • Acquire knowledge and an understanding of the world around them
  • Use language to effectively communicate and to facilitate learning and thinking.
  • Acquire and refine basic physical skills (gross and fine motor)
  • Develop an awareness of good health and safety practices
  • Develop a sense of curiosity, creativity, and imagination which will promote a lifelong love for learning

Daily activities at JUMPS include:

  • Bible Stories
  • Circle Time
  • Stories and Books
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Learning Centers
  • Music and Movement
  • Indoor Recess/Playground
  • Quiet Time
  • Snack Time and Lunch Time
